Overview
Hamilton College men's crew aims to improve in 2011-12 behind seven returning rowers on the varsity eight from the 2011 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) championships, and Andre Matias '12. Matias is back with the team after he trained in South Africa for the past year and attempted to qualify for the 2012 Olympic Games as a representative from the African nation of Angola. The varsity eight rowers back this season include Chris Visentin '12, Aaron Whiteman '13, Adam Minchew '12, Grant Meglis '14, Joe Ely '12, Rafael De La Rosa '12 and Max Geiduschek '14. Jaime Leiva-Cabrera '14 was the coxswain. Jeff Cardoni '11, who made the 2011 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) all-conference team as stroke for the varsity eight, has graduated. Visentin and Minchew are the team captains, and two of the six members of the senior class. Ely, De La Rosa, Matias and Matt Poterba '12 are the others.
